New Vitality is an award-winning health and wellness program tailored to meet the needs of today's mature adults age 50 and over. Members benefit socially, physically, emotionally, mentally and educationally from New Vitality's extensive roster of lectures, workshops, classes, support groups, trips and social events. Membership is free.

  • Access to prescription discounts The Rx Wizard will help you find out where you can get the best prices on your medications. Rx Wizard will also suggest generic equivalents for your drugs, if any are available.
  • Exercise programs including T'ai Chi Chih, Yoga, Better Bones, Aquacise, dancing and mall walking
  • Information and referral service
  • Free, confidential assistance with questions about Medicare and secondary insurances
  • Access to in-home emergency-response systems
  • Access to support groups
  • Educational classes and courses about health, personal finances, insurance, art, music, nutrition, writing and history

Alzheimer's Disease Caregivers Support Group

Alzheimer's is a disease of the brain that causes a steady decline in memory. Alzheimer's disease usually begins gradually, causing a person to forget recent events and have difficulty performing familiar tasks. Learn about this disease and other dementias and current treatment options.

Alzheimer's Disease Caregivers Support Group meets at the Chilton Health Network at 242 West Parkway, second floor, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., on the second Wednesday of the month. For information call 973-831-5167/5175.
Bereavement Support Group

Bereavement Support Group meets from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of the month at the Chilton Health Network, 242 West Parkway, Pompton Plains, second floor. For information call 973-831-5367.

Mall Walkers Club:

New Vitality's Mall Walker Programs are a free, fun way to exercise with peers. New Vitality now offers two locations for mall walking. At the Wayne Hills Mall on Berdan Ave. in Wayne, participants may walk from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday. At Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, participants may walk from 7 to 10 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 to 11 a.m. on Sunday. In addition to each mall sponsoring its individual program, the mall walker programs are cosponsored by Wayne Alliance for the Prevention of Drug and Alcohol Abuse, Chilton Cardiac Rehabilitation, Care One of Morris Assisted Living, Care One of Morris Skilled Nursing Facility, CareOne at Morris Skilled Nursing Facility and Assisted Living, and CareOne at Wayne Nursing Rehabilitation and Assisted Living. Each program requires separate registration forms and separate identification tags. To register for either or both programs, call 973-831-5367.

Catalyst Scripts
New Vitality

Catalyst Scripts is a free prescription discount card available for New Vitality members. Simply take your prescription and your discount card to your favorite pharmacist, who will fill your prescription and tell you the amount you will be required to pay. The amount you can save varies from prescription to prescription, and it is possible that there may not be savings on every medication every time.
