The Occupational Health Center (OHC) provides expert treatment for workplace injuries and illnesses that is timely and focused on restoring the employee's ability to return to work quickly. There is no waiting time for treatment, which is provided by clinicians with extensive experience and training responding to workplace needs.
The Center specializes in providing services designed for the workplace, including injury treatment, mandated testing, and physical examinations. The Center staff is expert in meeting the employer's need for timely, responsive care, ongoing communication, and reduction of lost work time.
The following services are provided:
- Treatment of workplace injuries and illnesses
- Full range of Laboratory and Radiology services
- Coordinated primary and specialty care referral
- Outpatient physical and occupational therapy specifically designed to ensure early return to work and conditioning to reduce the risk of re-injury
- Certified hand therapy
- Work conditioning
- Functional capacity evaluation and return-to-work testing
- Job analysis and on-site work-place review by the OHC clinical team
- Ergonomic assessment
- Pre-placement physical examinations
- All mandated tests, including examinations required by the Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)
- Hepatitis B and influenza vaccines
- Tuberculosis skin testing
- Audiometry and pulmonary function testing
- Back school
- On-site screenings, workshops, and seminars
- Medical surveillance
- Ongoing communication from the point of injury to return to work
- Coordination of services provided by primary care, specialty care, and rehabilitation providers
- Health and Safety Committee support
- The Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. And after hour coverages are provided by the Emergency Department at Chilton Memorial Hospital.
