Our unique Pediatric Emergency Department is separated from our regular adult emergency area and devoted just for children.
• Staffed by pediatric emergency doctors who will see your child within approximately 20 minutes from time of registration–so you won't have to worry about waiting
• For children from infants to 21-year-olds

Everything is designed to make children relax and feel comfortable. Walls are covered with kid-friendly designs including cartoon canines and under-the-sea motifs. There are even exam tables in the shapes of dogs or turtles. A separate waiting area offers a flat screen TV with toys and books to make what otherwise might be a stressful visit to an emergency room less intimidating. And, of course, the unit is stocked with equipment to meet the needs of children of all sizes.

Since the Pediatric Emergency Department is next to the adult emergency department, our staff has fast access to sophisticated diagnostic equipment as well as to the hospital’s full resources.

Of prime importance, Chilton Memorial Hospital's pediatric emergency doctors take a team approach to communicating with you and your child, as well as with your regular pediatrician, who is kept informed. They also work hand in hand with the doctors and nurses at the newly renovated Pediatric Unit at Chilton...ensuring optimal care.
